From the indie development scene, Fabled Game burst into the spotlight with their roguelike deck-builder, Pirates Outlaws. The title plunges players into a nautical world, beautifully marrying its card-based combat with a nostalgic art style reminiscent of yesteryear's sea-faring tales. The game eschews the typical glossy polish for a more hand-drawn and charming aesthetic, which feels at home amongst its rogue-like peers, and adds to the thematic consistency of being on a pirate's adventure.

The gameplay is robust, employing a variety of strategies through its unique deck-building mechanism that challenges and rewards players simultaneously. Sound effects, the unsung heroes of immersion, resonate with the creak of wooden decks underfoot and the roar of the ocean, while the in-game music, a blend of orchestral scores and folklore rhythms, creates a backdrop that's equally parts haunting and invigorating as one traverses the high seas. The storyline, while not the deepest, does enough to guide the player through increasingly challenging waters, offering a narrative thread that ties together the game's set pieces and combat encounters.

How to play?

🏴‍☠️ Step1: Begin by selecting your pirate character. Each has unique abilities and a starting deck. Consider your playstyle when choosing; some excel in raw damage, while others are more about cunning and card manipulation.

🗺️ Step2: Start your adventure on the map of archipelagoes. Navigate from isle to isle, each representing a battle or event, and plan your route to balance risk and reward.

♠️ Step3: Engage in combat using your cards. Each turn, you draw five cards and play them to attack, defend, or apply special effects. Watching your energy, as it limits the number of cards you can play.

📜 Step4: Defeat enemies to earn gold and collect new cards to enhance your deck. Beware of your health points though; once depleted, your journey ends, and you'll have to start anew.

⚓ Step5: Visit ports to trade. Use gold to purchase cards, remove unwanted ones, or heal. Strategic deck management is key to success in Pirates Outlaws.

👑 Step6: Face off against formidable bosses that challenge your deck's efficiency. Winning these pivotal fights rewards you with significant treasures that can impact your strategy moving forward.

🔄 Step7: Upon defeat or victory, start another run with the knowledge gained. Utilize different character abilities, try new routes, and refine your deck-building techniques to become an unstoppable pirate rogue.
