Beyond its jumpscare-intensive predecessors, Sister Location introduces a more elaborate storyline and varied gameplay mechanics that are not only meant to terrify but also to challenge the puzzle-solving aptitude of its players.

The game is characterized by its unique auditory experience that is as crucial as it is haunting. The blend of hushed ambiance with spikes of discordant mechanical noises provides a soundscape perfectly attuned to the game's dimly lit corridors and sudden gameplay twists. Complementing this are the visuals— a claustrophobic art style that uses lighting and shadow play to puppeteer an illusion of depth and movement, heightening the sense of paranoia that players feel within the confined spaces of the game.
